Appointment reminders are a great way to prepare clients for their healthcare journey, but are you also making sure to automate their journey after they leave the office?
You give the contact a lot of information in an appointment and they should have a concise way to find that information if they have questions after without having to reach back out. Let's look at prescriptions for example. You may give instructions on when to take it, if a contact should eat or not before or after, and that's not counting making sure they fulfill the prescription anyway.
This automation is triggered a few days after the client's appointment date and when they are denoted as having been prescribed medicine. The contact is then sent an email with a reminder to fulfill the prescription along with any other notes you want to add. Use Conditional content and a field denoting the prescription to personalize the message even further.
Here's how this automation works:
1. The contact enters the automation 2 days after the date stored in their date based custom field for appointment date. The trigger is also segmented so only contact's denoted as having being prescribed something enter the automation.
2. The contact is sent an email reminding them to fulfill their prescription.
3. The contact exits the automation.
Note: In our example, we use the condition of a tag for "Gave Prescription". Adjust this condition to however you track assigning prescriptions to contacts.
Note: You will need to build a date based custom field to house the contact's appointment date.
