Keyword Density

Definition

Keyword density is ratio of the number of times that a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the overall word count of the page. This is also sometimes referred to as keyword frequency, or the frequency with which a specific keyword appears on a webpage.

Keyword density is sometimes relevant to search engine optimization (SEO). If a page does not have a high enough keyword density, it may be less likely to rank for the desired phrases.
