How can you capitalize on the success of a big holiday sale?
By ensuring the purchases don't stop when the clock strikes midnight. It's an issue as old as time. You run a great sale, the purchases flow in, then the sale ends, and so do the new one-time customers. But by rewarding your contacts with a discount after the holiday and their initial purchase, you can get the contact to become a repeat customer.
This automation is triggered when a purchase is made from your ecommerce store and is then segmented by date and time conditions for the holiday. The contact then waits a day, after the sale is over, and is then sent a small discount to encourage repeat purchases.
Here's how this automation works:
1. The contact enters the automation when they make a purchase from your ecommerce store on the date specified in the segmenting conditions. For our example, November 27th.
2. The contact waits for a day at a wait step.
3. The contact reaches a send email step and is sent a message with a special offer.
Note: This automation can work with any special day but we use Black Friday in our example as the date and time conditions.
